Edmund and Sarah's Great Adventure at
Audley End House
Step inside the world of Lord and Lady Braybrooke at their estate in the mid 1800's!
Though photography wasn't allowed inside the house we had a great time snapping some photos in the areas they were allowed. We were able to tour the gardens and stables, the service wing, the inside of the house which included the chapel and the children's wing where we played with toys and learned of childhood during the 1800's!
It was a sunny but cooler day!
Sarah forced Edmund to try on the dress up hats!
And we got to see the horses in action!
The grounds were extensive and beautiful especially with the look of fall all around with leaves on the ground and the chill in the air!
Strange cloud hedges with swirls and shapes one would think were only possible in a Dr. Seuss story!
Sarah got to cookin' in the servants wing of the house...
"These pots and pans are soooo heavy, and they're empty at the moment! I can only imagine what they weigh with food in them!"
Edmund got to work as well! Taking logs into the kitchen to fuel the fires in the stoves!
We caught a few selfies with the beautiful Audley End House in the background!
Then we had an afternoon snack at the tea room, cherry shortbread, to help us stay sweet and lattes to warm our frozen fingers!
On the grounds were the ruins of a temple, we enjoyed playing around and taking some fun photos together with the setting sun on the horizon!
Another beautiful day that the Lord indeed did make! We enjoyed having the opportunity to learn of life in the days of old and see that the words in the book of Ecclesiastes are true, there is nothing new under the sun! But we are thankful for yet another adventure to be reminded of God's amazing power and His faithfulness through-out the generations!
P.S. We hope to bring our guests from the states to experience Audley End House, it was a full day of fun and exploring the beautiful English countryside and history! And we can't wait to share it with all our friends and family that are able to visit with us during our time here in the UK!
