For our 4th Wedding Anniversary we took a family vacation to New Mexico! It was a week of exploring and fun and a time to remember what the Lord has done for our family in these four fabulous years!
Our first day was in Santa Fe!
It was a bit chilly in the morning but we had a fun time going to the farmer's market.
Matthias was a bit under the weather for the day which caused him to take a great nap in the stroller! He slept through our entire lunch in a busy restaurant!
And then he kept sleeping even as we finished exploring downtown Santa Fe!
The next day we were in Albuquerque
In the morning we took a self guided walking tour from the new town to the old town...
We found some beautiful wisteria growing along our tour route. We had wisteria plants incorporated in our decorations at our wedding so it was a nice reminder of our wedding day.
We enjoyed eating some spicy New Mexican food during our trip.
After lunch time we went to the BioPark where the Botanic Gardens, Aquarium, and Zoo are all connected by a train.
There was a great mini train exhibit with which Matthias and Edmund were enthralled.
We had a fun train ride!!!
Our third day of adventure sent us right past some lava fields!
It was such a blessing to escape the colder Colorado weather and get some warm sunshine in New Mexico!
Rock collecting with Dad.
Further down the road we got to meet Smokey the Bear in the Lincoln National Forest
We saw a gypsy wagon that proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ!
The next day our plans were a bit changed after realizing the places we had scheduled to go to were closed that day... so we went for a hike in the Lincoln National Forest.
An old train trestle
The following day we went to the White Sands National Monument - it was very sunny!!!
Sand Sledding!!!!
We decided to escape the BRIGHT SUN and go inside the Space Museum where we got to see a piece of the...
MOON!
And fly a simulator space shuttle...
And be beamed up....
And dress up...
Like Astronauts!
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
The Grand Finale of our trip was Carlsbad Caverns!!!
Waiting for the evening bat flight!
A last little hurrah was stopping at the International UFO and Research Center in Roswell.
Very funny.
We had a grand vacation celebrating four years of marriage and we are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us this year! We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little "Pumpkin" and we know that the Lord is with us as we journey onward. May the Lord bless and keep you all!
