Bury St. Edmunds

This past week has been a whirlwind but we are thankful to the Lord for blessing us greatly! This week we got to look at several more properties here and we found a few that we liked! Today we heard from the letting agent (that's what they call realtors) that we were able to get the home we wanted at the price we requested! We still have a few hoops to jump through before it's all settled but it's looking quite likely =) Exciting things were happening all week, like very expensive taxi rides ($80 to drive 40 min roundtrip), househunting, finally being able to have our own vehicle, more househunting, buying a GPS, sightseeing, attending the Calvary Chapel of Cambridge, and hopefully finding our home for the next few years! It's simply "Brilliant," everything's just 1GBP, brilliant I say(and as the Brits would say!)!!   

 We also struck gold... That's right, MCDONALDS! 

They had some interesting items on the menu but overall it was pretty much the same except more expensive compared to American McD's but cheaper compared to the other eating options around town!

 Beautiful from the outside we look forward to going back to the area again to see the inside! 

It was interesting to see a unique vehicle driving about Friday evening, we surmised an event likely a highschool prom was taking place as lots of young adults dressed up were walking about and we kept seeing this interesting sight! A firetruck limo! It had music playing and strobe lights on and sounds of laughter coming from it! 

As we continued our overview of the area we found this gem talking of a quote by Charles Dickens that referenced the area, how fun!?! And as Dickens so keenly describes, it was indeed "a handsome little town..." 

 That's all folks, from our billeting (as American's would call, lodging) here in Suffolk England, we say hello and send our love to all our friends and family! We give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for His protection, provision and blessing! Closing with a passage from the book of Ephesians, Chapter 2 and verses 4-7: "But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!). For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus."
