Canterbury Pilgrimage
Life continues to slip-by ever quickly!
We have officially celebrated our 6 monthiversary! We are enjoying our days with each other and looking forward to what else the Lord has in store for us in the coming days, months and years!
This past weekend we were excited to have the opportunity to travel with our church on a pilgrimage to Canterbury cathedral! The roots of Christianity in England are in Canterbury!
The architecture was stunning!
The history was rich and intriguing!
From murders, to martyrs, to works of art given as gifts of adoration, to thieves, to pilgrims seeking miracles... In short, the stories in Canterbury cathedral were everyday stories, similar to the ones we often hear today. Pilgrims that seek to know God and His redeeming love more fully as they wander through this weary world!

The yummy restaurant that we had our lunch at was called, "The Goods Shed."
Part of our lunch included a cheese board with several types of cheese... our favorites were the Black Bomber and the Waterloo!
The last remaining gate which was originally part of the Roman wall built around the city of Canterbury!
And they say the sun never comes out in England... not true! Sarah could barely keep her eyes open it was so sunny!
It was a brisk, October day; hence, Sarah's layering of scarves but the weather was dry and sunny and quite wonderful for touring such a city full of history!
We had a great tour guide for a walking tour of the city which was very enlightening!
Back in the day, this sunbeam symbol was proof of fire insurance!
Churros and Starbucks... some things are just good anywhere =D
After a great day touring the city of Canterbury we made it back to the bus on time so that we could get back home!
Sarah has been reminiscing lately of all the things that have changed this year... This time last year, Sarah said goodbye to the Thomas family and packed up her things and headed south to spend the last months of her singleness with her parents! It was a sad day to say goodbye, but it was good too! It meant things were changing, though change can be hard it is often when we truly realize our blessings! We tried to listen to Dr. Suess' advice and not "cry because it was over, but smile because it happened!"
And now, one year later...
We were blessed to celebrate our
6 Monthiversary
on October 26th!!
It's truly amazing to look back over this past year and see the providences of God proving faithful to His promises! We rejoice in the Lord, we praise Him for the things that He gave us in our singleness and now we praise Him for the blessing of our marriage!
