Deutschland

Deutschland (oh, and a little day trip to France!)

Just silly Sarah here with another blog on the zany adventures that Edmund and I have recently trodden! We spent the past three days in Germany (and a side trip to the Alsace region of France). We were able to travel with our friends Brian and Stephanie again and we were so blessed with friends, beautiful weather and brilliant meals!

Well, without further ado....

Deutschland!

Actually.... the first day of our trip to Germany we drove south to the Alsace region of France!

We weren't there long and our need for food became apparent so after searching around
for the right price, right menu (which meant, one that we could half way translate!) and the right feel. With so many cute restaurants to choose from it was hard to decide but boy did we choose right!!!!

Best Mango Juice Ever!

Risotto and Roast Beef!

Then the best part was dessert! Meringue with lemon sauce and chocolate drizzle!

The next day we worshipped the Lord at the church Brian and Stephanie attend and afterwards, we went a chestnut festival that happened to be at the same location as a scenic mountain chairlift and villa of the Bavarian king, Ludwig I

 Sesselbahn = Chairlift

I am royal and Edmund is kissing my hand! ;-)

Ok, really the background is just a picture of Ludwig I

Vineyards surround the beautiful villa that we were able to tour and amazingly the one German woman on the tour was willing to translate for the six English speaking folks on the tour, it was a great blessing!

Riding the Sesselbahn up the mountain was a little bit scary!

But very much worth the wonderful views!

Trauben Soft = Grape Juice

With the harvest of grapes happening recently,
grape juice was in abundance all weekend
And each time we got some it seemed better than ever!
We were able to keep our glasses as souvenirs!

Um, bratwurst!

And what's this... a crepe... in Germany!
Ahh, it has kastien creme (chestnut creme) similar to Nutella but if I dare say so, yummier!

The love birds on the windowsill inspired a kiss!

LEGO -- Some things appeal to all cultures... Legos are loved around the world!

More Trauben Soft! This time red grapes made our juice!

The Rhine and Mosel Rivers,
with their many villages and towering castles
were the attraction for our last day in Germany!

We really had a fabulous time going to another place in God's wonderful creation
His love and provision are abundant and we give Him all the glory and honor!

  3. Is that last castle Reichsburg Cochem? If so, I have been there! It was only 2 hrs from where we lived at Ramstein :) Glad you had the chance to explore Germany, it holds a very special place in my heart!
