More Germany Adventures!
Over the Valentine's weekend we enjoyed yet another time of adventure in and around Germany!
We flew into Frankfurt Hahn airport on Friday evening and our friends Brian, Stephanie and Lydia so kindly opened their home to us again!
On Saturday, which was Valentine's Day, we enjoyed a trip to the neighboring country of Luxembourg!
We came across a nice market in the town square and took some pictures with the beautiful flowers and fun romantic feel in the air!
Luxembourg!!!
It was quite wet and cold but that didn't stop us from having fun exploring such a city full of history and beauty!
They had a yellow payphone booth!!
And we walked along F.D. Roosevelt Blvd!
Then we decided to stop in at a delightful chocolate house and be warmed by a yummy cup of hot chocolate and a pleasing piece of cake!
Luxembourg city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
In the late afternoon we caught sight of a beautiful rainbow as the skies cleared for a time!
Being silly!!!
Edmund found another Belair.... not in the state of Maryland but all the way in Luxembourg!
On Sunday, after a time of worship and learning of God's word at church we drove to Speyer, Germany and enjoyed the afternoon at the Technik Museum!
It was a fun and unique museum with all sorts of sights and sounds!
There were all manner of cars to look at...
And planes...
And even a space shuttle as well!
Overall, the Technik museum in Speyer was a very neat place to explore!
On Monday we were able to go to Mainz Germany and take part in Carnival!
There was a big parade, lots of food vendors and multitudes of people dressed up in all manner of silly costumes!
Little Lydia with her adorable Dutch hat attached to her snow suit to make sure she stayed warm out in the cold!
Edmund was holding Lydia
so she could see the exciting parade passing by!
Super Mario!!!!
And Transformers too!
Lydia getting a little taste of some sausage!
We got so much candy and treats from the parade which lasted over four hours!
And there was an American table in the parade too!
We had a splendid time briefly exploring the city of Mainz after the parade and found the lovely Rhine river and a stately row of trees!
It was time for dinner and then an end to our German adventures as we headed to the airport directly after our meal!
We had yet another weekend of such lovely fellowship with friends and a wonderful opportunity to explore God's beautiful creation and to learn more of the grace of His providential hand! We continue to praise the Lord for His abundant blessings!
Wonderful! What a beautiful country and city, Luxembourg. It is good to see the 6 of you enjoying the blessings of the Lord! Did you eat the whole thing, Edmund?
