Sutton Hoo

Adventure at Sutton Hoo
Back in September we had the opportunity to go out to the site of the Sutton Hoo burial grounds. The artifacts which were excavated from the site are displayed at the British Museum (we've been able to see those in the past!). It was a lovely day with a touch of Autumn in the air!

What the inside of the burial may have looked like... it was actually a boat that was buried! There are many unknowns about the burial (like who was buried there), of course, they have some ideas but they cannot know for sure.
But with the amount of armor and other goods buried alongside the dead it was likely someone of significance in the society in which they lived.

There really isn't much to see out in the fields that the burial mound was first discovered.

Greetings from Sutton Hoo
We had a lovely day out exploring and learning more about the history of England!
