Paris Trip

 Paris Highlights
and Disneyland Paris

We recently had a long weekend and we took the opportunity to travel to Paris for the 3 days. We arrived early Friday afternoon and had a bus tour of the city and then we took an hour long boat tour down the Seine River. It was a bit chilly for the boat ride but it was sunny and beautiful!

Gotta kiss a lot when you're in Paris!!!
Love how Matthias is peeking through!!! LOL!

After checking in at our hotel we braved the Metro system and made our way back into the city to explore. We were able to go into Notre Dame Cathedral and then we decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower (we didn't realize at the time that is was over 3 miles to walk from point A to B but we survived and got a good feel for the city of Paris [ahem, that means Sarah saw a rat scurry along, eewww!!!!]).

The Eiffel Tower is HUGE! It was a cool evening but we had a clear sky to get a nice view of the city of lights! We got a bit "hangry" because we hadn't had dinner and had walked an unexpected 3 miles but thankfully we were able to grab dinner at McDonalds (yay, for 24 hour American culture!) for a late night meal!

Matthias admiring the dazzling lights! Every hour after dark there are twinkling lights for 3 minutes, he was mesmerised for all 3 minutes!

On Saturday we got to have a wonderful French breakfast at our hotel (the three Cs: CROISSANTS, CHOCOLATE and CAPPUCCINO, what more does one need!) before we headed out to Disneyland Paris!

The Dumbo Ride

It was a truly magical day, this was Sarah's first time going to a Disney park and she was super excited to be there and she now understands the Disney craze that everyone always talks about!

 Matthias is all tuckered out!

We bought a blanket because it was sooo cold!!!

Christmas had started at the park and it was a wonderful way to start out our Christmas season!

It was quite cold, a bit rainy later in the day and overall rather crowded but despite these hindrances we had a great day and can't wait to go to more Disney parks as a family!

On Sunday, we had more of the three Cs for breakfast and then went into the Montmatre quarter of Paris where we saw the Sacre Coure basilica and got to get one last Parisian treat, a crepe, before leaving the city and heading back home
