Welcome to our new home!
(It was the 9th house we viewed!)
The outside of this farm house is a bit bland but the inside of this home is filled with character and charm! After the move in date changed 3 times we were finally able to move into our new home yesterday morning!
Plenty of parking area!
Two car garage! That's unheard of around here! Never mind that you can't fit a car through the doors as they are so narrow but we have plenty of storage, that's for sure! =D
We even have an extra little shed and the big black box is our oil tank!
We have a big back yard! Plenty of room for a trampoline, maybe ;-) Sarah loves to jump! Behind the fence is a garden area!
The house is fitted with long beautiful curtains to help keep out the winter cold! The windows are double glazed so that will also help with energy efficiency!
Plenty of head room here! The ceilings are very tall and the rooms are very spacious!
There are two wood burning fireplaces! One in the livingroom (or as the Brits call it, the Lounge... Which I rather like that term, it's very nice!) and the other fireplace is in the kitchen actually!
TOWEL WARMER!!!! Nothing else need be said.
Cool shower.
UTILITY ROOM! This is a really unusual thing to have in British homes as well, so we are very thankful to have a very large room for laundry and to use as a pantry as well....
The doorway out to the utility room is a bit short, watch your head!
The kitchen fireplace!
The kitchen is set up a bit unusual as it just follows along a very long wall so things seem really far apart but it's better than it being too small, so no complaints here! The sink is huge compared to many that we saw at other properties and the oven is actually a double oven with the top being a convection oven (from what I understand, anyway, I have yet to use it!). It is a very nice kitchen and we are excited about it very much!
There are four bedrooms upstairs as well as a second bathroom! You can catch a glimpse of planes from the local AF bases out the windows and you can even spot buildings from RAF Mildenhall from the windows as well! The base is just 4.5 miles away... The drive is nearly 20 min to get from here to Edmund's office in the morning (including the 15mph speed limit throughout much of the base) but coming home, he is able to come out a different gate which is much closer and from there it is only a 10 min drive!
The house has hedges all around as a wind barrier and some privacy as well, the house is in the middle of farm fields!
The bathtub is huge! Another thing we noticed that Brits have right, nice long tubs that adults can actually fit into, it's brilliant!
There are lots of big windows throughout the house to help let in the sunshine, every little bit helps since the sun doesn't always like to shine around here as we've been told!
We even have a closet in one room!

Well, that's all folks! If you want to see more you will just have to come visit us! We have been so blessed to get this amazing home, we do look forward to having our friends and family come visit us! As of right now, the house is still fairly empty, we were able to get a fridge and washer/dryer from FMO on the base and they have also provided us with some temporary furniture as well (like a bed and a couch) until our household goods arrive sometime in the next 30-45 days!
