Four months of marriage & a little bit of British rain...

 

Today marks four months since our wedding! It is amazing as we consider all that we have done in the past four months and we look back on these 120 days with great thankfulness at the Lord's sovereign and providential hand! We have been blessed and we give all the glory, honor & praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We sure do miss all our friends and family back in the states but we rest in the promise of God's Word that says He works all things together for the good of the purpose of His will (Romans 8:28)! We have been busy getting settled in our new home and getting things cleaned up around here! We spent the weekend pressure washing the house and putting out bug spray which appeared to do a good job as we found many dead bugs! We are hoping that this will help keep the bugs outside even as the cool weather continues to come upon us. At nighttime the temps drop to the 50's and have even dropped into the upper 40's this past week. Summer is over! And fall~like weather is upon us! 

We were so blessed to be able to find and purchase a second vehicle this weekend as well! We had been looking since we arrived and were unsure if we wanted to pursue an investment of that kind at this time but the Lord made it clear to us that this was the right time and the right vehicle!

When we first arrived here in England we started noticing a lot of Mini Coopers out on the road and we thought, hey, what a perfect way to get around! It's got great gas mileage, it is small and perfect for parking here and driving on the small carriageways and what better way is there to experience the British lifestyle!?! What do you think? Awesome, right!?!

 

  

 

BUT.....

Then we started to think... we are both pretty tall and that wouldn't be soo comfortable especially if we want to go on longer road trips and the novelty will start to wear off soon so we decided not to get a Mini Cooper... Instead we got....  

 

Drum roll please......

A Hyundai Santa Fe!!!!

  

 Introducing Lucy the Santa Fe! For those of you who don't know... Sarah's vehicle in the states is a 2003 Cherry Red Hyundai Santa Fe, when we saw that there was a 2003 Black Hyundai Santa Fe available for purchase here in England we had a good feeling that this was the vehicle for us! It would be something familiar for Sarah to drive even though it's a little different than Sarah's Cherry Red Santa Fe, whose name is Ethel, but we thought we should call her Lucy in honor of the friendship and adventures portrayed by Ethel and Lucy in the show "I Love Lucy." The most exciting differences about Lucy from Ethel is the addition of a sunroof and only 86k miles to her claim as of yet (whereas Ethel has +200k miles on her odometer!) and of course, the biggest difference is that the steering wheel is on the right side of the vehicle. And oddly enough the turn signal and windshield wipers are switched so when you go to turn on the turn signal the wipers come on, oops, that will be on to get used to!!! We are so blessed to have the ability to have a second vehicle and we praise the Lord for His provision! 

 

Sarah was blessed to use her new vehicle to meet up with friends and carpool with them to Norfolk Lavender! She had a good time and at the animal village there she was just about kissed by an Alpaca and she even acted like she would kiss him back but there wasn't a chance that would have really happened! The lavender is at the end of it's season but the aroma was still quite strong! And the lavender was still breathtakingly beautiful too!  

 And finally, a little bit of British rain! This is what a cloudy gray day looks like... the clouds are endless and the rain, well, it's more like a constant drizzle!
