Silverstone F1 Grand Prix

The weekend following our Lake District adventure we were able to go camping again! This time though it was to be right near all the action of Silverstone F1 Grand Prix!

After a crazy first day, (uh... we forgot the tickets at home, so we spent some extra time in the car than we were anticipating!) we were able to have some fun in the Family Zone!

Then we were able to get out to the track and catch some of the qualifying!

We had fun cheering on our favorite driver, Lewis Hamilton!

Matthias let us put his earmuffs on and occasionally he would keep them on long enough to protect his little ears from the load engines. Thankfully, with some of the recent changes in F1, the engines are not quite so loud as they once were!

The RAF Red Arrows performed before the big race, they put on a great show!

Go Lewis!

Nothing like a little bit of rain to start off the race with some action (well, actually... the safety car... but it added to the suspense of the race!)

Thankfully, blue skies came back on over!

Our second year at Silverstone was a great time together! We enjoyed cheering on Lewis and seeing him win the race (again!) and most of all we were blessed to experience the crazy, wonderful British summer weather. A little bit of sun, a little bit of rain and a whole lot of good times!
